Post and Panel

 

Visitors exercise their creativity in this open-ended building experience. To make their creations, they experiment with shear panel construction techniques using 1.5" x 1.5" PVC posts of various lengths and PVC panels ranging in size and shape up to 20" square. These components are assembled using large nuts and bolts. Visitors can plan and build projects ranging from a box with a hinged lid to a racecar or a sundial. This exhibit is especially good for fostering parent/child interaction. The exhibit includes a rolling cart to store the Post and Panel building components, a work bench and two small sawhorses to aid in construction.
