Light Up the Grid

Light Up the Grid challenges visitors to follow the path of electricity from generation to the final step down for consumers. Chains act as connecting links from one station to the next. When a correct connection is made, an electromagnet is activated to hold that chain in place. Any break in the power line causes an outage in all downstream devices. Each device along the path has an LED to indicate a successful connection. Once all of the chains are correctly in place, a small cluster of homes at the end of the run becomes illuminated.
